Bisquick Gluten Free - Product Giveaway

Some of you may have already found the new Gluten Free version of Bisquick (thanks for more awesome GF products General Mills) which was released earlier this summer.  If not, I've been able to find it at Raleigh area Kroger, Target and Lowe's Foods.  I'm sure there are more places that are carrying it as well.  The trick is to usually look for it in the flour isle, and not with the pancake mixes.

I've had several opportunities to use the new GF Bisquick - for pancakes, waffles and as a breading for oven baked chicken.  All were pretty successful.  Our first attempt with pancakes was a little dissapointing actually, they came out still uncooked in the center.  The next time I left them on the griddle longer but the same result.  Finally at the third attempt, I made the pancakes much thinner and turned down the temperature and viola, done all the way through to perfection.  Click here for more helpful tips on how to use the GF version.

If you have not had a chance to try the new GF Bisquick, I'm hosting a product giveaway.  Big thanks to MyBlogSpark.com and Bisquick for providing me a sample and for providing the goodies in this giveaway.  The winner will win the following items (see picture) -> 1 box of Gluten Free Bisquick, 1 spatula, 1 pancake griddle and 1 pancake pencil.  The pancake pencil was pretty cool - I was able to spell out names and make shapes - a big hit with my daughter.

In addition, you can visit http://www.myblogspark.com/uc/main/8b49/ to download a printable coupon for $1 off Bisquick Gluten Free baking mix!

We love Mrs. Leeper's Corn Pasta. I'm not gluten free but my husband is and we both eat it and enjoy it! I wish Whole Foods still carried it but now we have to go to Kroger to get it. I'd love if someone carried the other shapes of pasta. They have elbow noodles and spirals but we've only found them online. That's my vote!

My favorite product is a duo - coconut flour and coconut milk. Because I need to eat low carb and gluten free, these two are staples in my diet.

No more having to make your soup from scratch, Gluten Free Cafe has come out with a Chicken Noodle Soup. Its made by Health Valley and found on the shelves of Harris Teeter. If you're cold or even feeling under the weather, this stuff will make you feel better. I don't know about you but if I don't feel well I don't want to make my own soup, I just want to open a can and heat it up. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

GF for ten years- now two of our kids are GF. So we need products that taste NORMAL. Our favorite pasta is tinkyada brand -comes in lots of shapes and can even be found at walmart. Our favorite bread is Sami's Bakery Millet bread, bagels and already made pizza crust -purchase online or maybe at earth fare and we love the namaste brand muffin mix, brownie mix and they have the absolute best -not weird tasting in any way- pizza crust mix -that is very easy to make. I haven't seen the gf bisquick mix yet, can't wait to try it. The betty crocker gf cake mixes are great too.

For me, Bob's Red Mill Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix is the best. We discovered it soon after I was diagnosed and it is relatively inexpensive, easy to prepare (even I can make it in a pinch) and it fills the bill for bread to eat with jam and or sandwiches. It doesn't keep very long at room temperature but if I move it to the fridge soon enough it will keep me going for five days or so.

I haven't seen the GF Bisquick but I will look for it now - thanks for the tips!
My favorite GF product... I too love Tinyada pasta, best out there. It makes the best baked macaroni and cheese.
I also like the Kinnikinnick GF pizza crusts (sold in box of 4). When I order pizza for the 3 teenage boys in my house I pop one of those in the toaster oven and make my own hot pizza. :)

bob's red mill biscuit and baking mix is absolutely wonderful, especially since my mother is the best southern cook i know and can easily substitute this in fried chicken and biscuit recipes. it's readily available and i've never had trouble finding it at HT, whole foods or earthfare. just this past weekend i threw it into an apple crisp, along with gf oats, brown sugar and cinnamon - so perfect for this weather!!

New to gluten free because of celiac disease…at first I was so down because I missed all of my southern favorites- yeast rolls, hushpuppies, cupcakes, pizza, crusties, chocolate chip cookies, popovers and even saltine crackers. All made possible by Jules Shephard’s Gluten Free Flour. I can’t say enough good things about it! In my opinion no other flour comes close to her concoction. Just the other day, I made chocolate chip cupcakes and they were the best cupcakes hands down I have ever eaten in my life. They were light, moist and soft- would make a wonderful wedding cake. I’m very impressed how everything has turned out using her flour. It is so versatile. It seems like I bake something every other day. Now the foods I used to miss, they’re just substandard reject junk food compared to what I eat now. Needless to say, I am no longer crying!

I found out I was gluten intolerant (NCGS) in August, and it's still a huge adjustment for me when I'm at the grocery store or eating out. But thanks to blogs/wesbites like Gluten Free Raleigh, I've had a lot of help in finding yummy food I can actually eat!

The most difficult adjustment for me has been with pasta. My spaghetti always comes out sticky and very chewy. The only pasta I've really enjoyed is Quinoa Ancient Harvest Pasta. They have it at my local Harris Teeter and it comes in 7 different cuts. Their website is also great for different pasta recipes if you're running out of ideas for dinner.

I think my favorite GF has to be Betty Crocker's GF Chocolate Chip Cookie mix. I mean, how can you beat chocolate chip cookies?? Plus, they're a GF product that doesn't taste GF. And the crumbliness works for them!
