Just wanted to toss out a quick reminder that the next Gluten Free 101 Class will be held this coming Saturday, October 23, 2010 @ 1pm. The class is normally held at Rosie's Plate but we will be moving venues this time. The class will be held at the Raleigh Whole Foods Market location in the classroom during the Gluten Free Fair. Call Rosie's Plate at 833-0505 now to sign-up, there are only a limited number of seats available. Note: All sign-ups for this class are being handled by Rosie's Plate and not Whole Foods. Whole Foods was generous to allow us to use their classroom so we could make this class more convenient for those of you who wish to attend the GF Fair and the GF 101 Class - thanks Whole Foods! They will also allow us to sample some GF goodies during the class that they offer for sale in the store.

Be sure to swing by the Raleigh Whole Foods Market location (Wade Avenue) this coming Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 11am to 2pm. Check the calendar for more details but Whole Foods will generally do one of these Gluten Free Days or Vendor Fairs twice per year (once in the spring and once in the fall). If you stop in, you'll get to meet a lot of folks from the Raleigh area Gluten Free community as well as sample many GF treats.

For the past week, I've been hosting a giveaway that includes a Bisquick Gluten Free prize pack. To win, all you had to do was live in the Triangle area and leave a worthy comment about your favorite Gluten Free product. We had lots of great comments, but I can only pick one winner. That winner is

Some of you may have already found the new Gluten Free version of Bisquick (thanks for more awesome GF products General Mills) which was released earlier this summer. If not, I've been able to find it at Raleigh area Kroger, Target and Lowe's Foods. I'm sure there are more places that are carrying it as well. The trick is to usually look for it in the flour isle, and not with the pancake mixes.

I recently made a trip out to a new dessert spot called Local Yogurt. We visited the North Raleigh location at 6106 Falls of Neuse Road. Local Yogurt got its start in Durham as the city's first independently owned frozen yogurt shop. In addition to being a locally owned business, the shop features toppings from area farms and vendors (more on that in minute) – thus the name Local Yogurt.
