Gluten Free City Guide Updated

If you have not seen the Gluten Free City Guide, you can check it out here. It is a helpful tool if you plan on traveling to unknown areas of the USA/Canada. I designed the GF City Guide as a mashup of great Gluten Free blogs or Celiac Disease support group Web sites for various cities out there. These are the local folks in the know for their respective city. I would recommend reading their content and/or even contacting them in advance of your trip so that things can go a little more smooth. I get emails a lot from folks coming to Raleigh and they can easily refer to content on on GFR for their trip.

I spent some time recently updating it to make it a little more easy to use and navigate. Also, I updated some of the cities listed, removed bad links and added new cities. There are now 176 placemarks on the Gluten Free City Guide map.

The Gluten Free City Guide is includes placemarks on numerous cities throughout the USA & Canada. Placemarks have been added to cities where Celiac Disease Support Group Web sites and/or Gluten Free Blogs specifically about those cities exist. Find a city you want more Gluten Free information on and simply click it's placemark. Use the Gluten Free City Guide map to help with traveling to unfamiliar cities or to learn more about your city.

Please email me if you maintain a Celiac Disease support group Web site or are a blogger who writes about living Gluten Free in a particular city/state/region and would like to be added to the network.

Gluten Free City Guide Featured in New Celiac Book

I was recently contacted by a fellow Celiac named Julianne Karow. She has just put the finishing touches on a brand new book about Celiac Disease called "Celiac Resource Guide - Helping to Navigate Life's Detour". She asked for my permission to include The Gluten Free City Guide Blog I created earlier this year. Of course I granted her permission to include this useful resource. If you have not seen the GF City Guide, check it out for help with traveling in the USA and Canada. The custom GF City Guide map includes placemarks on numerous cities throughout the USA & Canada.

Julianne describes the book as
..."a personal resource guide for those with celiac disease who struggle to solve everyday challenges. In addition to information that will help those with celiac or a gluten allergy, it will provide references to many websites where you can further educate yourself on this new journey. The Celiac Resource Guide includes suggestions for a gluten-free pantry, where to find gluten-free food products, gluten-free medications, how to travel on a gluten-free diet, and much more. Inside the book, you will find coupons, discounts, free sample offers or free shipping donated from several gluten-free food manufacturers."
The book will be available the beginning of May at celiacresourceguide.webs.com or on amazon.com.

Useful Resources: Gluten Free City Guide

I've been working on a custom google map recently which has placemarks added to cities that have blogs or Web sites dedicated to living Gluten Free in that particular city.

Click the link to check out the Gluten Free City Guide.

There are currently over 100 cities/areas on the Gluten Free City Guide map.

Simply click the placemark on the city you plan to travel to and up pops Blogs or Web sites about living Gluten Free in that city. I've tried to include GIG or CSA support group Web sites as well. In select cities, you'll also find Gluten Free Dining Groups that use meetup.com to organize eating out GF.

Please let me know if there are any I missed and I will get them added to the map.
