As you may know, this weekend Raleigh will host the NHL showcase event
All Star Weekend. If you are from out of town visiting Raleigh, see some tips below to help you have an excellent Gluten Free weekend, Raleigh style.
- Obviously, two big events are occurring at the RBC Center, home of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes. On Saturday at 7pm, the NHL SuperSkills competition takes place followed by Sunday at 4pm by the All Star Game. See my previous posts about GF eating and drinking here.
- If you are out by the RBC Center and hunting for a good Gluten Free meal, be sure to stop by Bella Monica Italian Restaurant. This place is one of the best and safest Gluten Free places to eat in the entire city. Bella Monica is located at 3121-103 Edwards Mill Road (yes the same road the RBC Center is located on). Be sure to stop in for the tops in GF eating that Raleigh has to offer..
- Some of the other events of the weekend, like the NHL Fan Fair, are occuring in Downtown Raleigh at the Convention Center. Some great places to stop by in downtown Raleigh are listed below.
- Z Pizza - located at 421 Fayetteville Street next to the Marriott - be sure to stop in a get an excellent Gluten Free Pizza.
- Rosie's Plate - located north of the Convention Center at 701 North Person Street - Rosie's Plate offers Raleigh's only completely Gluten Free kitchen and has take out options available.
- Mellow Mushroom - need some more Gluten Free pizza, check out MM in Raleigh's Glenwood South district (lots of bars, clubs and restaurants) at 601 West Peace Street.
